Our 2023 Annual Report is extremely positive, and includes updates on recent project wins, a list of notable employers, and our progress on important initiatives. It has been exciting to celebrate the cumulative impact of our work. Over the last 5 years alone—LCP fueled a whopping $1.2 BILLION in direct capital investment, drove the creation of 4,445 new jobs, and kept 4,739 existing jobs in our community. Our project pipeline remains robust. We are managing 39 projects, primarily in the industries of advanced manufacturing, life science, data, and sustainable energy. Our involvement with the Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership is also opening up new business attraction opportunities. The conversations that we are having with business leaders are very optimistic, and we expect to see continued growth and investment in the back half of the year.

Lake County Partners Annual Report 2022

Based on job growth and investment, Lake County is enjoying one of the best runs in history. As LCP celebrates its 25th anniversary, we’re looking back at the biggest accomplishments of 2022 in our new Annual Report. Highlights include: • LCP’s work drove $202 million in direct investment, created 419 new jobs and retained 112 existing jobs. • Lake County’s Gross Domestic Product – the gold standard measure of overall economic activity – continued to climb, growing 9.6% and reaching $69.7 billion over the past 3 years. • Lake County remained the home of the largest collection of Fortune 500 headquarters in the Midwest outside of the Chicago Loop. • Life sciences and advanced manufacturing thrived, because LCP worked with business leaders to tap into incentives and help them grow. • Major school investments enhanced educational opportunities and strengthened Lake County’s talent pipeline. • LCP began implementing the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, leveraging opportunities for early childhood education and housing. • Regional leaders launched the Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership, creating a bold vision for business attraction. • Lively in-person events resumed, bringing together partners for inspired collaboration and setting the stage for continued success.

Lake County Partners Annual Report 2021: The Future is Bright

After an exciting year of openings and expansions, regional planning and growth, the future is bright in Lake County. Lake County is much more than Chicago’s neighbor. It is the location of choice for 10 Fortune 500 companies – the largest in the Midwest outside of the Chicago Loop – and home to 30,000 businesses that generate $125.4 billion in total annual sales. The area celebrated tremendous economic growth in 2021, particularly in life sciences and advanced manufacturing. Through the development of a new Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, Lake County now has a multifaceted, action-oriented roadmap that leverages assets and sets a bold vision for equitable prosperity. This report recognizes business successes over the past year and the many partners who have made the wins possible.
