Manufacturing is one of Lake County’s largest sectors and a pillar of its economy. Locally, the industry employs nearly 100,000 – 1 in every 7 jobs – which is among the highest concentrations in the state. Over the last year alone, the manufacturing labor force has grown 3.5%, representing 2,200 new workers. Talent is paramount to success, and growing businesses can find the workforce they need in Lake County. In a new op-ed, we shared our strategies to support the growth with the Illinois Manufacturers Association, in partnership with the College of Lake County, Lake County Tech Campus and Grayslake District 127.
