First Six Months of Regional Partnership a Huge Success

In a recent OpEd featured in Crain’s Chicago Business, we joined with our counterparts in the region to share a six-month progress report of the Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership (GCEP). Since it was first announced in January 2023, we’ve united forces on nearly 50 joint economic development opportunities. Collaborating on over 40 diverse research projects, we’ve opened up our programmatic efforts to each other, fostering a collaborative spirit that has invigorated our region like never before. Our collective focus remains unwavering: building Chicagoland to be a prosperous and inclusive place for business growth. We could not have achieved any of this without the visionary leaders who co-signed the OpEd: Sandy Hart (Board Chair, Lake County), Michael Buehler (Board Chairman, McHenry County), Deborah A. Conroy (Board Chair, DuPage County), Matt Kellogg (Board Chairman, Kendall County), Corinne M. Pierog MA, MBA (Board Chairman, Kane County), Toni Preckwinkle (Board President, Cook County), Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant for Will County Executive (Executive, Will County), and Michael Fassnacht (President & CEO, World Business Chicago). We are especially grateful for the high level of engagement the GCEP enjoys from leaders from each of the participating counties regularly convening together.
