Abbott just announced that the company will be hiring up to 2,000 employees at its new facility in Gurnee as it begins to ramp up assembly of its cutting-edge rapid COVID-19 test called BinaxNow. Abbott has invested $18 million in the existing 255,000 sq. ft. facility at 605 Tri-State Parkway to rapidly launch operations, and hiring is already underway. Day and night shifts are open, with benefits and a cash bonus up to $2,500 offered. Shuttle service from the Metra train station is available, and no training or experience is necessary.
