Both the City of Zion and the City of Waukegan have been selected to receive significant investment from the Energy Transition Community Grant Program administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to support initiatives tied to clean energy, business attraction, workforce development, infrastructure and housing support. Agreements will be completed this summer, and the funding will jumpstart a revitalization effort that will make the area a leader in the green economy.
