Lake County Partners Newsletter – October 2026

Lake County is building momentum through strategic housing development, thriving communities, and a growing regional economy. From new residential investments in Fox Lake and Antioch to Illinois’ record-breaking tourism numbers, recent developments highlight the opportunities strengthening our region. In Fox Lake, The Residences at the Quarry celebrated its grand opening, bringing 154 new residential units to the community. Lake County Partners worked alongside the Village and project developers to secure an Enterprise Zone Designation, helping offset construction costs and move the project forward. Antioch is also experiencing significant residential growth, with more than 630 housing units completed or underway. Combined with investments in parks, recreation, trails, downtown businesses, and community amenities, Antioch demonstrates how housing and quality-of-life improvements can work together to support long-term economic vitality. Meanwhile, Illinois welcomed a record-breaking 115 million visitors in 2025, generating $50.2 billion in visitor spending and an $88 billion total economic impact. These milestones underscore the state’s appeal as a destination for visitors and its strength as a place to live, work, and invest. The newsletter also features an interview with Pete Govorchin, President of City of Hope Chicago, highlighting the organization’s contributions to cancer care, medical research, workforce development, and community partnerships throughout Lake County and the surrounding region. Together, these stories demonstrate how collaboration, investment, and community leadership are shaping a stronger future for Lake County.
