The kickoff of Illinois Biotechnology Innovation Organization (iBIO)’s STEMgirls Summer Camp is one of our favorite summer traditions. This year, 127 girls, aged 3rd to 8th grade, are gathering together to explore science, technology, engineering and math while honing in on the impact of innovation on human health. The camp showcases Lake County’s strong tradition of mentorship, with over 40 area professionals volunteering their time and Abbott, Amgen and the Steans Family Foundation supporting the event as sponsors.
