iBio STEM Camp Boosts Young Bioscience Talent

One of the most impactful summer traditions in Lake County is back – the Illinois Biotechnology Innovation Organization (iBIO) STEMgirls Summer Camp at Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep, hosted by Abbott, Amgen and the Steans Family Foundation. This event boosts young talent in the community by empowering 100+ girls as they explore STEM through hands-on experiences with local mentors. The impact is clear: campers gain confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and envision themselves as future innovators. By bridging opportunity gaps and providing early exposure to STEM careers, iBIO is helping to prepare the workforce of tomorrow and nurturing the next generation of changemakers along the way.
