IDOT Economic Development Program (EDP)
To provide state assistance in improving highway access to new or expanding industrial or tourism developments.

| Program Description: |
The program provides up to 50% state matching funds for eligible roadway-related construction and engineering items. This program is a reimbursement of eligible costs associated with economic development projects. |
| Eligibility: |
Any general-purpose local government (as defined by Article 7, Section 1 of the Illinois Constitution) may apply to the Department for funding under the Economic Development Program. |
| Ineligible Projects (not all inclusive): |
Funding is available only for roadway-related construction which leads directly to private-sector expansion or retention activities. Non-eligible items include: land acquisition, building demolition, landscaping, sidewalks, street lighting and utility adjustments. |
| Loan Amount: |
There is no maximum amount of Department funds which may be invested in any one project. |
| Application Process: |
An Economic Development Pre-Application form titled, Notification of Intent to Apply for Economic Development Funds, needs to be submitted to the Department. The Department will require additional information before EDP funds can be committed. |
| Fees: |
Not applicable. |
| Job Criteria: |
There are no statutory requirements for job creation or retention numbers. The Department handles each project on a case-by-case review. |
