Lake County Partners (LCP) helps businesses transform opportunities into success through a wide variety of products and services. Our products and services are designed to attract new businesses to Lake County, retain and expand local businesses, grow skilled labor force for the region, build and diversify Lake County’s tax base, improve Lake County’s infrastructure, address governmental issues that affect the business climate and support appropriate land usage.

Site & Building Search

Lake County Partners helps businesses find the right location. We have comprehensive lists of Lake County's available sites and buildings and a strong working relationship with the real estate community and municipalities throughout Lake County.

Information Clearinghouse

Lake County Partners recognizes that accessing accurate statistical demographic and quality of life data is critical to companies making investment decisions. LCP provides current, reliable statistical information that assists companies through crucial business decisions.

Financing & Incentives

LCP staff helps companies identify incentives and credits for which they may be eligible and helps answer any tax-related questions. We also provide access to business loans for companies in Lake County. LCP is designated a Certified Development Company (CDC) by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and is authorized to make loans under the 504 Program in partnership with commercial bank lenders. LCP also provides Volume Cap required for Industrial Revenue Bond financing for manufacturing companies and multi-family housing projects in Lake County through the Private Activity Bond Clearinghouse (PABC) located in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Finally, LCP works with state agencies and local economic development organizations to provide a wide array of financing options for all types of business needs.

Development Ombudsman

Through our municipal and county contacts we help companies work through permitting, zoning and licensing issues expeditiously. LCP assists businesses by outlining the necessary steps in the building development process and convening the appropriate parties to ensure effective project outcomes. In addition, through our contacts with the electric and gas utilities, water and sewer providers, telecommunications providers and construction/engineering firms, LCP helps answer questions and find solutions to meet businesses’ infrastructure needs.

Workforce

LCP partners with colleges, county agencies and private sector providers to connect businesses with a variety of workforce development resources, including training, curriculum development, training incentives and potential funding sources, and workforce recruitment.

Export Assistance

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Service and its network of U.S. Export Assistance Centers provide export counseling and assistance in more than 100 U.S. cities and 150 offices in 83 countries. Robin Mugford, an Export Assistance Center international trade specialist who is co-located with LCP, assists companies with many of their export needs, from finding distributors to answering customs-related questions.

Educational Programs & Networking Opportunities

LCP provides a variety of opportunities and forums where civic, government and business leaders are able to share information and experience and work collaboratively to strengthen the business climate in Lake County.

Business Advocacy

LCP addresses and works to solve the issues most important to Lake County’s businesses and communities, including transportation, infrastructure, labor, access to capital and business and government partnerships. Our affiliate corporation, the Lake County Transportation Alliance, advocates solely for transportation projects in conjunction with its strategic partners, at the local, state and national level.
